Membership Info

All Donauschwaben events that are held throughout the year are managed and organized through our members. They are the lifeline of the club. Anyone can join the Donauschwaben Society (even if you aren’t German) as long as they are willing to contribute and help out with these various events. From bar tending at weddings, to helping out in the kitchen to cleaning up the grounds, there is plenty of work that needs to be done in order to help the club grow and prosper.

To become a member of the Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society, all potential member’s have to fill out a Membership Application. Once declared a member, an annual membership fee of $35 is charged per family per year.

There are two levels of memberships:

1. Regular members have earned the right to vote in the election of trustees and to participate in votes on major financial and other issues.  For married couples, each individual earns the right to vote because single regular members exercise one vote.

2. Associate members may become regular members by being active in the Verein, and having their name submitted by an existing regular member to a membership review committee formed by the board of trustees. The membership committee asks the assembled regular members to approve of the candidates at one of the regular meetings during the year.
